Articles of Faith

THE SCRIPTURES - We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and is without error in it’s original manuscripts.

THE TRUE GOD - We believe that there is only one true God. He is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature.

THE FALL OF MAN - We believe that man was created by God in a state of perfection, but through the temptation of Satan, he violated the command of God by free choice and lost his original state.

SALVATION - We believe that salvation is offered to all only through the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is the rescue of a person from the eternal punishment of hell and is received when a person confesses & believes in the death, burial, resurrection of Jesus Christ.

JUSTIFICATION - We believe that justification is God's gracious and full acquittal of all sinners who believe in Christ’s death, burial, & resurrection. It can never be lost to those who truly receive it.

SANCTIFICATION - We believe that sanctification is the process by which we are made like Jesus Christ; that it is a progressive work; that it begins when one accepts Christ; and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit until death or the return of Jesus Christ.

THE GOSPEL CHURCH – We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers. We observe the ordinances of Christ (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) are governed by His word and exercise our gifts for His glory.

BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER – We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer. The Lord’s Supper is the commemoration of the death of the Lord Jesus, through the use of bread and the fruit of the vine.

CIVIL GOVERNMENT – We believe the Scriptures teach that civil government is of divine appointment, for the interest and good order of human society and, therefore, should be obeyed by Christians.

THE WORLD TO COME – We believe the Scriptures teach that the end of the world is approaching. There will be a physical resurrection of the righteous and the wicked. The bodies of the righteous will conform to the glorious spiritual body of Jesus Christ and those of the wicked will be placed into hell forever.

THE RESURRECTION – We believe that the Scriptures clearly teach that Jesus rose from the dead. He now exists in His glorified body at God’s right hand.
